Remarks
Today was the last day of the 2009/2010 hunting season. With a few good friends we went out to clean up any remaining birds that might be lingering around. We shot a dozen or so Chukkar west of the Inn and then went to see if we could find a few wild pheasants before the day was over. In one corner we flushed three roosters, my son Cole was a little distracted and let one go by, but Jim was on his game and nailed one that tried to get by him. It was a great way to finish up the season.

Remarks

Philip came out to hunt with Cole, being with only one good arm I was regulated to the photographer. We set out a number of Chukar and Cole and Philip went about hunting them up behind the fur pointers. Total we shot 14 chukars. After the Chukar hunt we went south to see if we could roust a rooster or two. While most of the birds were wild and got up way too far to shoot we did manage to knock down one rooster late in the day in the corner of a corn field. After a long time of looking we still could not find the darn bird. I went to get my two labs to join Philps dogs to see if we could track the wounded bird. After much looking and little day-light Buddy managed to put a good point on the bird on the corner of the field and Beau made sure the wiley rooster wasn’t going anywhere but in the bag. A great mid-winter hunt.
